If you’re an experienced Radian6 user, you’ve probably used Source Filters. This feature lets you choose a source, such as a blog or forum, and monitor mentions that appear within that source. It expands your listening from traditional Social Networks to include other Web 2.0 properties.
In Social Studio, Source Filters have been replaced with Source Groups.
Source Groups are added to Topic Profiles, allowing you to monitor all of the content in the source, exclude the source from your listening solution, or only include keyword matched content.
Migrating from Radian6 to Social Studio?
Our Social Analysts live and breathe Social Studio, having implemented solutions for some of Australia’s biggest brands.
A Super User can create Source Groups from Social Studio Admin, click on Source Groups on the left navigation and choose Add New.
You’ll need to provide a name for the Source Group, then a Description of what it should be used for. Importantly, you’ll need to set the Source Group to Public, so that you can share this with other users for their Topic Profiles.
Add in the sources, by pasting in the URL of the source. In this example, we’ve selected some news sites.
Once that’s done, click Save Source Group and you’ll then be able to add it to your Topic Profile.
